In West Africa, the issue of transforming raw materials is urgent because it is linked both to the disappearance of traditional skills and to the rise of poverty. This great paradox leads to the loss of beauty in the everyday environment as well as the disappearance of unique traditional artistic knowledge. Animism breathes life into objects, with the hand and tools serving as the means of transmission. These guide the spirit confidently and without hesitation toward an osmosis with the material, which is what we understand as Art.
