Know How (Savoir Faire)
In West Africa, the issue of raw material processing takes on an urgent character, as it is linked on one hand to the disappearance of traditional skills and on the other to the increase in poverty. This great paradox leads to the loss of beauty in the everyday environment, as well as to the disappearance of unique traditional and artistic knowledge. Animism breathes a soul into objects; its means of transmission is the hand, the tool. These surely and confidently guide the spirit towards an osmotic relationship with the material, which is what we understand as Art.
